AGARTALA: In a solemn ceremony marked by grief and high administrative honors, state dignitaries assembled at the Civil Secretariat (Mahakaran) today to pay their final tributes to the mortal remains of the late Director General of Police (DGP), Anurag Dhankar.
The body of the 1994-batch senior IPS officer was brought to the Secretariat premises following the completion of formalities, allowing the leadership of the state administration to bid farewell to the head of Tripura Police.
Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Cabinet Ministers, and Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha led the floral tributes, placing wreaths on the late DGP’s body wrapped in the National Tricolor.
Tributes Paid Across Administrative Spectrum
High-ranking administrative and security personnel—including IAS officers, senior IPS officers, department heads, and Secretariat staff—lined up to lay wreaths and offer floral tributes to the late officer.
Speaking on the sidelines of the wreath-laying ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed profound sorrow over the loss, remembering Anurag Dhankar as a highly dedicated officer who rendered distinguished service to the security and administrative governance of Tripura. The Chief Minister personally consoled members of the family and assured full administrative support.
Following the formal honoring ceremony at the Secretariat, full ceremonial honors were accorded by the state police contingent. Arrangements are being coordinated by state authorities for the ceremonial proceedings and final rites.
