The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) West District Committee marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women by organizing a one-day seminar at a mock parliament session focused on violence against women and pathways to justice.
Held on November 25, the event highlighted rising concerns over gender-based violence across the country and stressed the urgent need for stronger legal, social, and institutional responses. Members of AIDWA, activists, youth leaders, and representatives from women’s rights organizations participated in the session, discussing real cases, legal loopholes, and the everyday challenges faced by women seeking justice.
Speakers emphasized the importance of public awareness, community support systems, and the role of government agencies in preventing violence and protecting survivors. The seminar also featured discussions on reforming investigation procedures, strengthening survivor-centric policies, and expanding state-level support services.
