AGARTALA: Taking a significant step forward in modernizing urban amenities and expanding civic infrastructure in the capital city, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) organized a major project inauguration ceremony at Swami Vivekananda Maidan (Astabal Ground) today.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha attended the event as the Chief Guest and officially inaugurated a series of citizen-centric developmental projects and modern public services undertaken by the municipal body.

Building a Smart, Green, and Technology-Driven Capital
Addressing the gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the state government’s steadfast commitment to transforming Agartala into a clean, green, technology-enabled, and citizen-friendly modern urban center in the Northeast.
”Building modern cities and modern villages forms the cornerstone of a developed Tripura. Our primary objective is to enhance the daily lives of residents by delivering transparent, accessible, and high-quality civic services using digital technology and efficient governance,” the Chief Minister stated.
Launch of Digital & Waste Management Initiatives
As part of today’s ceremony, the Agartala Municipal Corporation rolled out several crucial initiatives designed to boost sanitation and civic convenience, including:
- Launch of the “Sabuj Sena Amar Agartala” mobile application for enhanced citizen engagement and service delivery.
- Flagging off 51 new three-wheeler waste collection vehicles to strengthen door-to-door solid waste management across municipal wards.
- Rollout of the citywide Mosquito-Free Campaign.
Mayor Dipak Majumder and Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta reiterated that the corporation is working continuously across all 51 wards to upgrade road networks, drainage systems, street lighting, and public sanitation infrastructure. The newly introduced services are expected to significantly raise the standard of civic living for the people of Agartala.
