Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for six key development projects worth nearly Rs 220 crore in Tripura in the presence of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha at Pragya Bhavan.Speaking at the event, Scindia said the state is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manik Saha. He highlighted that the central government has given top priority to the Northeast under the Act East Policy, resulting in unprecedented growth in infrastructure, connectivity and economic development.The inaugurated projects include solar micro-grid electrification for 274 remote habitations across five districts, construction of the 13.78-kilometre Jatanbari–Mandirghat road, and the 8-kilometre Gandachhara–Narkelbuza road. Foundation stones were laid for new road projects connecting Jampui Hill–Kajrai and Koaifang–Karbook, along with a Veterinary Clinical Complex at R.K. Nagar.Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Manik Saha said Tripura has been recognised as a front-runner state by NITI Aayog and is witnessing steady growth in GSDP and per capita income. He also underlined improvements in governance, law and order, and effective implementation of welfare schemes.Later in the day, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister visited Agartala Government Medical College, GBP Hospital and Agartala Government Dental College to review ongoing construction works. Scindia assured full support from the DoNER Ministry to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the state and stressed timely and quality completion of all projects.
