Saraswati Puja was celebrated with great devotion and festive spirit across Tripura on Friday, marking one of the most significant cultural and religious occasions for the Bengali community. Homes, temples, educational institutions, community centres and colourful pandals across the state witnessed enthusiastic participation by devotees.Girls dressed in traditional Bengali attire were seen offering prayers to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, music and arts. In schools and colleges, students placed their books before the idol of the Goddess, seeking blessings for academic success and intellectual growth.A special highlight of the celebrations was the traditional initiation ceremony of young children into learning, where toddlers wrote alphabets for the first time, symbolising the beginning of their educational journey. Several institutions and community pandals also organised devotional songs, cultural programmes and competitions to mark the occasion.Throughout the day, beautifully decorated pandals attracted large crowds, including students and families, who arrived in festive attire to participate in the rituals and cultural events.According to Hindu belief, Saraswati Puja is observed on Vasant Panchami to worship the goddess of learning and knowledge. The festival continues to hold deep cultural and spiritual significance, especially among students, reflecting society’s reverence for education and wisdom.
