AGARTALA | July 8, 2026: Demonstrating strong intra-party solidarity and support for veteran grassroots organizers, a high-level delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today visited the Gobind Ballabh (GB) Pant Hospital in Agartala to check on the health of senior party leader Shri Pramod Ranjan Das. Das, a widely respected, long-time party veteran from the Khowai district, was recently admitted to the apex state referral unit following a sudden, severe age-related medical deterioration.
The high-profile visit was executed under the direct instructions of BJP State Pradesh President and Member of Parliament (MP) Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee, who has been personally tracking the treatment logs of the veteran leader.
Honoring a Dedicated Veteran Worker of Challenging Times
Shri Pramod Ranjan Das is widely regarded as a pillar of the saffron party’s foundational grid in the Khowai region. He spent decades building local organizational structures during highly challenging political climates, long before the party rose to power in the state.
The visiting party delegation comprised senior state and district officials, highlighting his status within the party:
- Shri Bipin Debbarma, BJP State General Secretary.
- Shri Samir Kumar Das, BJP Khowai District Committee President.
- Shri Anukul Das, Khowai Mandal President.
The leaders sat extensively with the attending medical team and the family members at the hospital ward, reviewing the ongoing clinical charts and diagnostic protocols.
”Shri Pramod Ranjan Das is one of our most dedicated and senior guardians, who stood firmly by the party’s ideology during its most difficult struggles in Khowai. Under the clear guidance of our State President, we have visited him today to ensure that he receives the absolute highest standard of medical intervention available. The party stands firmly as a family behind its dedicated veterans. To assist with the immediate medical costs outside standard hospital provisions, we have handed over a direct financial assistance package to his family members. We pray for his swift recovery and return to the organizational fold,” BJP State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma stated at the hospital.

The state leadership interacted with the senior medical superintendents of the AGMC & GB Pant Hospital complex, requesting a dedicated observation team to oversee the veteran leader’s recovery phase.
The family members of Pramod Ranjan Das expressed their deep gratitude to the visiting state and district leadership, noting that the timely visit from senior party colleagues has provided them with vital emotional strength and reassurance during this difficult period.
