AGARTALA | June 27, 2026: In a major event for the state’s cooperative credit sector, the Tripura State Cooperative Bank (TSCB) Limited successfully organized its 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) today at the Nazrul Kalakshetra auditorium in Agartala. The high-level convention serves as the primary steering council to audit annual financial logs, review agricultural credit deliveries, and layout expansion maps for regional branches across rural and semi-urban pockets.
The ceremonial proceedings kicked off with the traditional lighting of the lamp by a distinguished panel of state dignitaries, including the Honorable Minister for Finance, Planning & Coordination, Shri Pranajit Singha Roy, and the Honorable Minister for Cooperation, Shri Shukla Charan Noatia.
Strengthening Grassroots Economy and Micro-Credit Distribution
The general body assembly drew a significant turnout of cooperative society delegates, micro-finance stakeholders, and institutional shareholders from various districts. The TSCB administration presented a detailed performance layout highlighting the bank’s operational profits, minimized Non-Performing Asset (NPA) percentages, and successful implementation of digitalization across all rural branches.
Addressing the gathering, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy emphasized the bank’s vital role in driving financial inclusion and supporting micro-entrepreneurs across Tripura.
”The Tripura State Cooperative Bank is the financial backbone for our small-scale farmers, self-help groups, and rural artisans. Over the years, it has transformed from a conventional lending house into a proactive digital banking institution. Our finance and cooperation departments are synchronizing frameworks to ensure hassle-free crop loans, low-interest micro-credit allocations, and immediate subsidy routing directly to the grassroots level. This 43rd AGM marks a definitive step toward making our rural banking network completely self-reliant,” Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy shared.
Key Directives and Resolutions Passed by the Core Panel
During the executive working session, the bank’s management panel, led by the TSCB Chairman, Shri Nagadhiraj Datta, laid out a time-bound operational chart:
- Expanding Agri-Credit Lines: Allocating separate priority funds to fast-track Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans and introducing specialized financial assistance schemes for youth-led organic farming projects.
- Upgrading Digital Infrastructure: Enhancing mobile banking interfaces and expanding Micro-ATM deployments across distant sub-divisional branches to aid senior citizens and rural self-help groups.
- Cooperative Integration: Cooperating closely with the Cooperation Department under Minister Shukla Charan Noatia to revitalize Large-sized Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS) and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACSs) at the block level.
The AGM wrapped up with a formal presentation of performance awards to top-performing rural branches and an open interactive session allowing cooperative members to place local developmental feedback before the core board of directors.
