AGARTALA: In a major push toward transparent governance and youth empowerment, Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha presided over a formal distribution ceremony of appointment offers at Pragna Bhavan, Hall-1, yesterday. The Chief Minister officially handed over appointment letters to 115 newly recruited candidates selected for various roles within the Health & Family Welfare, Revenue, and Election Departments.
The event served as a celebration of merit-based selection, with the Chief Minister reiterating that the era of seeking “recommendations” for government jobs is a thing of the past in Tripura.
A Milestone in Regular Employment
Addressing the newly appointed officials and their families, Dr. Manik Saha provided a comprehensive overview of the state’s recruitment journey over the last eight years. He noted that the government has remained committed to filling vacancies despite various logistical and financial constraints.
Key Figures from the CM’s Address:
- Total Regular Jobs since 2018: 20,845 candidates have been inducted into regular government service.
- Contractual & Outsourced Engagement: Over 24,078 individuals have been engaged through various alternative employment models.
- Transparent Process: The CM emphasized that every candidate present in Hall-1 earned their position through competitive exams conducted by the TPSC or departmental boards, ensuring a high standard of administrative competence.
“Service to People is the Supreme Duty”
The Chief Minister urged the new recruits to remain grounded and dedicated to their roles, reminding them that their salaries are funded by the taxpayers of Tripura.
”Today, you are joining the government as a part of our extended family. Remember that the people who visit your offices are often in need of urgent help. Service delivery must remain your priority. I am particularly pleased to see a significant number of women in this selection list, which proves that our focus on ‘Nari Shakti’ is yielding real results at the administrative level,” Dr. Manik Saha remarked.
Focus on Health and Infrastructure
Given that a large portion of the new recruits joined the Health Department, the CM highlighted that Tripura is rapidly moving toward becoming a healthcare hub. He mentioned that the state is working on expanding transplant facilities and establishing new de-addiction centers to ensure a “Nasha-Mukt Tripura.”
The program was also attended by senior officials, including the Health Secretary and Director of School Education, who welcomed the new officers into their respective departments.
Departure for West Bengal
Following the event at Pragna Bhavan, the Chief Minister interacted with local media, where he confirmed that he would be leaving for Kolkata today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government in West Bengal on May 9. This will be followed by a similar trip to Assam on May 12 to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of the NDA-led government there.
