Agartala: As part of the ongoing “Disaster Preparedness and Awareness Program,” the Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) successfully organized its second voluntary blood donation camp today at its headquarters in Gorkhabasti. The event saw an overwhelming response from the department’s employees and local youth, reinforcing the state’s mission to ensure zero blood shortage in hospitals.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for ARD, SC Welfare, and Fisheries, Shri Sudhangshu Das, who served as the Chief Guest.
A Milestone in Social Commitment
The atmosphere at the ARDD office was charged with enthusiasm as over 100 donors voluntarily stepped forward to donate blood. This initiative is the second in a series of social welfare activities planned by the department to complement its core administrative duties.
Minister Sudhangshu Das, while interacting with the donors, emphasized the life-saving nature of such acts.
”Blood donation is the greatest service to humanity. I am heartened to see our department workers leading by example. This isn’t just about healthcare; it’s about disaster readiness—ensuring our blood banks are stocked for any emergency,” the Minister stated.
Call to Other Departments
During his speech, the Minister urged other government departments to follow suit. He remarked that if every state department organizes such periodic camps, Tripura could easily maintain its lead in voluntary blood donation in India.
