AGARTALA: In a significant move toward expanding employment opportunities and strengthening social security, the Tripura Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 112 posts across various government departments. Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat today, Cabinet Spokesperson and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury detailed the decisions aimed at streamlining public services and supporting the families of martyrs.
The recruitment drive focuses on technical and administrative roles, with a clear emphasis on transparent competitive examinations.
Department-Wise Recruitment Breakdown
Minister Chowdhury announced that of the 112 cleared positions, 107 will be filled through direct competitive exams, while five will be filled via internal promotions.
Key Job Openings:
- Finance Department: The Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts will recruit 50 Senior Computer Assistants (Group-C) through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
- Printing and Stationery Department: 43 technical posts have been sanctioned. Candidates with secondary education and ITI certifications are eligible. These will be recruited via the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
- Election Department: 6 Lower Division Clerks (Group-C) and 4 Group-D staff will be recruited through JRBT.
- Home (Prisons) Department: 4 Pharmacists (Allopathy) will be appointed to strengthen healthcare within correctional facilities.
New Welfare Project: Support for Martyrs’ Families
Beyond employment, the Cabinet formally launched the “Chief Minister’s Assistance to Unmarried and Dependent Daughter/Son” scheme. This initiative specifically targets the families of paramilitary personnel from Tripura who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Scheme Details:
- Eligibility: One unmarried and dependent child (above 18 years of age) per martyr’s family.
- Benefit: A monthly allowance of ₹2,000.
- Objective: To provide a dignified social security net for the children of the state’s bravehearts.
Enhanced Pension for World War II Widows
In another humanitarian decision, the Cabinet has significantly increased the monthly allowance for the widows of Tripura soldiers who served in World War II. The monthly pension for the 12 surviving widows in the state has been hiked from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000.
Monitoring and Infrastructure
Minister Chowdhury also noted that the government is continuously monitoring the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects, including the newly launched State Innovation Mission. He reiterated that the administration is committed to ensuring that recruitment processes remain time-bound and merit-based.
”Our government’s focus remains on ‘Antyodaya’—reaching the last person. Whether it is through providing jobs to our youth or financial stability to the families of our martyrs, these Cabinet decisions reflect our dedication to a prosperous and self-reliant Tripura,” the Minister concluded.
