AGARTALA: Emphasizing the role of women in nation-building and cultural preservation, the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Tripura Pranta, successfully organized its 24th Annual Session at the Agartala Press Club today. The session, held under the banner of ‘Mahila Sahabhagita’ (Women’s Participation), focused on the organization’s core pillars of Sanskar (Values), Sewa (Service), and Sampark (Contact).
The event saw a large gathering of women members from across the state, highlighting the growing influence of the Parishad in Tripura’s socio-cultural landscape.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by several high-profile guests who lauded the Parishad’s efforts in promoting patriotism and social welfare.

“Women as Pillars of Society”: Minister Tinku Roy
In his address as the Chief Guest, Minister Tinku Roy highlighted the state government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment and how voluntary organizations like BVP complement these efforts.
”The progress of any nation is measured by the participation of its women in social and national duties. Bharat Vikas Parishad has been doing exemplary work in nurturing Indian values among the youth and women. Our government is committed to ensuring that every woman in Tripura has the opportunity to be self-reliant and dignified,” the Minister stated.
24 Years of Service in Tripura
The 24th session served as a platform to review the annual progress of the Tripura Pranta. The leadership presented reports on various community service projects undertaken during the last fiscal year.

- Sanskar Projects: Discussion on the success of the ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ quiz and patriotic song competitions in schools across Tripura.
- Health & Service: Reports on blood donation camps and health check-ups organized for rural women.
- Future Roadmap: The session concluded with a resolution to expand the BVP network to the remotest subdivisions of North and South Tripura districts.
Mahila Sahabhagita: Leading the Change
Rupa Debbarma, representing the women’s wing, emphasized that the objective of ‘Mahila Sahabhagita’ is to move beyond traditional roles and encourage women to take leadership in community development. She urged the members to focus on the holistic development of children by instilling strong ethical foundations at home.
As the session wrapped up, several women achievers from within the organization were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to social service during the past year.
