Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma made a bold declaration on October 27, asserting his confidence in his ability to win elections without the need for any political alliance. Speaking at a joining programme in Agartala, Debbarma emphasized that his fight was not for power, but for the future generations of Tripura.
In his address, Debbarma highlighted the importance of unity among various communities in Tripura, including tribals, non-tribals, Bengalis, Christians, and Buddhists. He criticized traditional political parties for failing to prioritize the well-being of the next generation and stated that his politics was not based on religion or caste.
Taking a swipe at his critics, Debbarma pointed out the double standards in political discourse, noting that his calls for unity were often misconstrued as communal while similar messages from others were hailed as inclusive. He stressed the need for tribal development as a means to overall progress in Tripura.
Debbarma also addressed the recent influx of new members to the BJP, suggesting that the numbers claimed by the party were exaggerated. He expressed confidence in Tipra Motha’s electoral prospects, citing the party’s success in winning 13 seats in previous elections.
Accusing the government of delaying Village Council elections out of fear of Tipra Motha’s growing influence, Debbarma underscored his determination to fight and win with the support of the people. He made it clear that he was prepared to invest his own resources into the campaign and did not require external support.
In conclusion, Debbarma reiterated his commitment to promoting unity among tribals and emphasized that his focus was on the well-being of the people rather than political alliances. With a strong belief in the support of the village people, Debbarma expressed his determination to lead Tipra Motha to victory in future elections.
