The recent outbreak of violence in Kamalpur subdivision of Tripura’s Dhalai district following a strike has been strongly condemned by Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. In a statement on Sunday, October 26, Minister Chowdhury called on the people to reject separatist ideologies and reaffirm their commitment to democracy.
The Minister made these comments after participating in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme in Banamanipur, Agartala. Addressing reporters later, Minister Chowdhury emphasized that the violent incident that occurred during the strike was not politically motivated.
“Regardless of political affiliations, people from all walks of life in the state have united in condemning and protesting against the violence. Our government and party do not endorse such disruptive actions. A peaceful and democratic movement cannot be achieved through such means. The people of Tripura have already voiced their opposition to these violent tactics. The days of achieving goals through chaos are over – violence will not lead to success,” stated Sushanta Chowdhury.
The Minister also highlighted the rapid progress that India, including Tripura, has made under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in various sectors such as the economy, technology, and infrastructure. He called for unity and a shared commitment to democracy, urging everyone to focus on collective advancement.
“Our aim should be to propel the state towards development,” added Minister Chowdhury.
In conclusion, Minister Chowdhury’s appeal for peace, unity, and democratic values serves as a reminder for the people of Tripura to uphold the principles of democracy and work together towards a brighter future for the state.
