The Tripura Police force is intensifying its efforts to maintain law and order in the state, with a special focus on combating drug-related crimes, according to the newly-appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag. During a recent visit to Unakoti district, DGP Anurag chaired a review meeting with district-level police officials to discuss the progress made in achieving a drug-free Tripura.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of various police stations, and senior officials from other security departments. DIG (Northern Range) Rati Ranjan Debnath and Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai were also present at the meeting, highlighting the importance of collaboration among different levels of law enforcement.
DGP Anurag commended the efforts of the police force in Unakoti district, noting a significant decrease in the overall crime rate by 24% compared to previous years. He emphasized the importance of working closely with the public to combat crime and maintain law and order, particularly in areas where further improvement is needed.
“Our main aim is to collaborate with the public in combating crime and maintaining law and order. We will focus our efforts on areas where law and order needs further improvement,” said DGP Anurag. “Public coordination is essential. We are working very closely with citizens because our ultimate goal is to ensure a peaceful environment.”
In line with Chief Minister Manik Saha’s vision for a drug-free Tripura, DGP Anurag reiterated the police force’s commitment to this mission. He highlighted the progress made so far in tackling drug-related crimes and expressed confidence in expanding and improving services for the public.
The Tripura Police’s dedication to prioritizing law and order while working in close coordination with the public is evident in their ongoing efforts to create a safer and drug-free environment for all residents of the state.
