The Tiprasa Accord, aimed at addressing the concerns of the indigenous people of Tripura, is currently in the process of implementation, according to Chief Minister Manik Saha. He emphasized that progress is being made and that he is actively communicating with Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of the Tipra Motha Party.
This announcement came after Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma accused both the state and central governments of inaction in implementing the accord. However, CM Saha refrained from commenting on the MLA’s threat to withdraw support from the BJP, stating that it is an internal matter of the Tipra Motha Party.
“I am in touch with Pradyot Manikya and the process for implementation of the Tiprasa Accord is on track,” CM Saha assured.
Pradyot also confirmed the ongoing communication with CM Saha and mentioned plans to speak with Ranjit Debbarma. Additionally, he revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has scheduled a meeting with them later this month, indicating a willingness from the central government to address the concerns of the indigenous people of Tripura.
The need to address the insecurity felt by the indigenous population in the region was highlighted by Pradyot, who expressed concern over the influx of people from Bangladesh settling in Tripura. He emphasized the importance of resolving these issues to ensure peace and security for the indigenous communities in the state.
