AGARTALA: Responding to the state’s continuous call to stabilize emergency medical reserves, the Tripura Acharya Samaj Kalyan Parishad successfully organized a voluntary blood donation camp on Sunday. The humanitarian drive was hosted within the premises of the historic Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan Higher Secondary School in Agartala, drawing dozens of local youths, community organizers, and social volunteers who queued up to donate blood.
The noble public health initiative was officially inaugurated by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, who attended as the Chief Guest to encourage the donors and review the clinical logistics.
Combating Summer Deficiencies in Regional Blood Banks
The health drive was organized at a strategic juncture, as local blood banks frequently experience a seasonal drop in units ahead of the peak summer monsoon transition due to shifting academic schedules and local vacations.
Key Structural Elements of the Donation Camp:
- Safe Triage Systems: Professional medical teams and technicians from the state-run blood bank oversaw the collection process, ensuring rigorous screening for hemoglobin levels and baseline health vitals before clearance.
- Youth Mobilization: The Acharya Samaj Kalyan Parishad deployed localized student networks to counsel first-time donors, successfully dismantling common misconceptions regarding voluntary blood extraction.
- Component Separation Focus: Medical coordinators briefed donors on how individual whole blood units are processed into distinct lifelines—such as platelets and plasma—to maximize the clinical utility of each donation.
“Blood Donation Has Transformed Into a Social Festival in Tripura”: MP Rajib Bhattacharjee
Addressing the gathering of community elders, medical professionals, and young donors inside the institution’s hall, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee stated that the state’s civic culture has shifted entirely toward proactive public service.
”There is no factory on this planet that can manufacture human blood; it can only come as a gift of life from one human being to another. I must congratulate the Tripura Acharya Samaj Kalyan Parishad for choosing Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan—an institution deeply tied to our state’s intellectual heritage—as the venue for this noble initiative.
Under our current administration, we have successfully managed to transform blood donation from a cold medical necessity into a vibrant, state-wide social festival. Our local clubs, religious institutions, and social welfare groups are stepping forward on weekly rotations. Because of this collective civic awakening, our blood banks are maintaining healthy stocks, and no family has to run frantically from pillar to post during clinical emergencies. We must keep this momentum alive,” Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee asserted during his speech.
Broad Institutional Attendance
The event saw a significant turnout of distinguished community heads, school administrative members, and prominent neighborhood representatives who joined the MP in honoring the voluntary donors with standard certificates of appreciation and nutritional refreshment kits.
The leadership of the Acharya Samaj Kalyan Parishad concluded the day-long health camp by thanking the institutional heads of Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan for providing infrastructural support and vowed to hold similar specialized diagnostic and health orientation camps in rural subdivisions across the upcoming winter months.
