AGARTALA: In a vibrant prelude to the upcoming state-level Van Mahotsav celebrations, a captivating nature photography and forest conservation exhibition kicked off at the City Center Art Gallery in Agartala today. The event was organized to spread environmental awareness and document the rich, diverse biodiversity of Tripura’s wildlife habitats.
The special exhibition was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Tripura’s Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by high-ranking administrative and forestry officials, including the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Principal Secretary of the Forest Department, Rabindra Kumar Samal, alongside PCCF Administration Chaitanya Murti.
Addressing the media and gathering at the City Center Art Gallery, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma highlighted the critical importance of public participation in making the upcoming Van Mahotsav a grand success. He emphasized that visual mediums like photography exhibitions play a monumental role in connecting city dwellers, youth, and students with nature conservation goals.
”Forests and wildlife are the real treasures of Tripura. Through this exhibition at the City Center, we aim to motivate citizens to actively participate in tree plantation drives and safeguard our environment for future generations,” Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma stated.
The exhibition features a stunning collection of photographs displaying Tripura’s dense forest reserves, rare flora and fauna, and successful community-led social forestry projects. Senior forest officials, environmental activists, and art enthusiasts turned out in large numbers to witness the launch, marking it as a significant step forward ahead of the statewide plantation weeks.
