Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for their actions in attempting to divert attention from the pressing issue of the North Bengal floods. Dr. Saha stated that the TMC has little presence in Tripura beyond their signboards.
In response to the TMC’s actions, Dr. Saha condemned their tactics, stating, “The way the Trinamool Congress is running their government is beyond comment. In North Bengal, the situation is serious due to floods and landslides, and many people are suffering. Our MPs and MLAs, including Khagen Murmu and others, went there to distribute relief materials. The TMC used certain individuals to launch a deadly attack, and some of our workers are now hospitalized. They are always involved in such activities. What is wrong in distributing relief? Everyone is outraged after this attack, including people in Tripura.”
Dr. Saha highlighted a recent rally held in Agartala city, emphasizing that the Trinamool Congress lacks a strong presence in Tripura. Regarding a protest staged by angry youths, Dr. Saha mentioned the presence of police but noted their limited ability to intervene. He also expressed concern over individuals from Kolkata coming to Tripura, questioning their intentions.
The Chief Minister urged the TMC to focus on proper politics and maintaining law and order in West Bengal, rather than engaging in actions that divert attention from critical issues like the North Bengal floods. Dr. Saha emphasized that such tactics would not benefit the TMC, and instead may lead to a loss of support. He concluded by urging the TMC to reconsider their approach and prioritize the well-being of the people they serve.
